Project: Research

Description

The aim of the DisCOURSE project was to design, develop and evaluate a modular multi-media authoring environment that supports educator/authors in the design and production of simulation based training systems. This included special tools for multi-media: the Domain Authoring Tool; the Instructional Design Tool; the Learner Interface and Modelling Tool (which includes a Learner Attribute Database); Multimedia Production Tools; Simulation Tools (DISCOSIM); and a Common Information Space (CIS).

The project developed a methodology, reusable software components and full-scale prototype systems to assess the feasibility of the approach.

The project was funded by the European Union under the Framework 3, Delta 2 Programme - £256,900.
