Losses in tacit bargaining games with focal points – an experimental investigation

Project: Research

Description

LUMS: Research Pump-Prime Grants Scheme 2021

Key findings

Our findings show that when payoffs are framed as losses, individuals are less likely to use salient labels as a coordination device in games where individuals’ interests are perfectly aligned (e.g. Pure Coordination Games, Hi-Lo Games and Pizza Night Games). However, effectiveness of the loss frame decreased significantly in games involving conflicts of interest, such as the Battle of the Sexes.
