Meaning at the Margins - Hear Me Roar

Project: Research

Description

This project is a co-produced book written with young people who engage with Lancashire Youth Challenge and other community organisations in Lancaster and Morecambe. These young people will make original contributions to the book as provocations. These provocations then pave the way for a critical commentary (again co-produced) to situate those provocations within the broader socio-political context of their complex lives living through austerity. The book will be published in May 2022 with Policy Press at which point, there will be a ‘glitzy’ book launch for everyone involved. We will be inviting the local (possibly national) press and local councillors and MPs to the launch.

The young people will be able to attend a series of creative workshops to help them produce their original provocations and then will work with me to co-produce the critical commentary to situate those pieces.
