Morecambe Bay Curriculum Theory of Change and Strategy Development

Project: Other

Description

Between January 2023 and December 2024, Lancaster University facilitated partnership and community consultations focused on the development of the Morecambe Bay Curriculum. This led to the development of the Morecambe Bay Curriculum's theory of change, 2025-2030 strategy and programme structure.

Key findings

The theory of change narrowed the focus of the grassroots project, with expected key outcomes including; confident and informed young people and teachers as well as impact relating to sustainability, nature and place. Community, Health and Green Skills were identified as secondary outcomes for the programme.

The theory of change process led to the development of the MBC 2025-2030 strategy which outlined the need for new community/project structures, a focus on research and policy shaping as well as the need for future funding security.
