Project: Other

Description

The aim of this project is to understand better the reported gap between UK innovation procurement policy and practice, specifically in terms of a shortfall of innovation procurement capabilities and mind sets of public procurers and suppliers /SMEs that are not conducive to innovation. The study will focus on specific UK innovation procurement schemes (e.g. the Small Business Research Initiative) to empirically understand what the related challenges are in these specific schemes, and how they could be mitigated with a view to better aligning existing innovation procurement practices with policy aims.
