What did 'salvation' (soteria) mean to the Greeks, and how did they experience it? My new project is a comprehensive study of the cults of ‘saving’ gods with the epithets Soter/Soteira (‘saviour’), and the underlying idea of soteria (‘salvation’, ‘deliverance’, ‘preservation’) in ancient Greece.
