Particularly, this research focuses on the role of business and management education in promoting the environment-, social-, and governance- (ESG) focused competencies leading to the development of sustainable cities.

Overall, this project advances educational research, practice, and policy by investigating an under-researched area where business/management education and urban planning intersect under a shared goal of improving the urban and natural habitat for all its inhabitants

Layperson's description

Countries around the world are increasingly adopting sustainable practices to enhance the inclusivity, safety, and resilience of their cities. The drive to build sustainable cities, however, comes with a need to foster green skills and sustainable education for its communities and citizens. However, although the importance of green skills for promoting green economy has been widely accepted, many aspects of it remain under-researched. This research illuminates how educators, businesses, city planners and policymakers can transform green education into green careers that ultimately serve as the foundation of sustainable cities.
