Targeting the gut-brain axis to improve animal resilience to a warming climate

Project: Research

Description

Sustainability Institute’s Pump Priming Grant

Layperson's description

Network building and pilot research activities to develop collaborative funding bids for research into the GBA mechanisms involved in animal resilience to climate change, and how defined interventions can leverage them.

Key findings

C. elegans can be used as a model to study pollinator gut microbe effects on host health. Thermotolerance has a clear gut microbiota component in C. elegans.
