BT Thought Leader presentation: Developing practical quantum technologies for security in a post-quantum world
Activity: Talk or presentation types › Invited talk
Modern society is underpinned by digital technology and information that is becoming increasingly vulnerable to sophisticated attacks, with massive data breaches on the rise. Quantum security technologies harness the fundamental behaviour of the electrons and light they process to provide novel functionality; provably secure communications, truly random number generation (for keys and passwords) and authentication for devices at the atomic scale.
In this talk I will provide an overview of my research group's recent contributions to the field of quantum security devices and how Quantum Base Limited are bringing them to market. This will include:
Quantum physical unclonable functions, for key generation and authentication in embedded electronic devices.
Smartphone-readable labelling technology (Q-IDs), for anti-counterfeiting, track-and-track and provenance provision,
Electronic quantum random number generation.
