How do we develop More-than-Human Design and Technology education to foster a Sustainable Future? 'Action' Roundtable at The Morecombe Bay Curriculum Conference 2024
Activity: Talk or presentation types › Public Lecture/ Debate/Seminar
It is estimated that there has been a nearly 70% decline in pupils taking GCSE Design and Technology in England since 2010.
Increasing Design and Technology (D&T) knowledge and skills amongst the next generation will be fundamental for helping to enable society’s wider transition to a sustainable future.
This roundtable discussed how educators might better re-engage pupils with D&T education – particularly one which embodies ‘More-than-Human’ principles so that pupils can best navigate the pros and cons that human-focussed technological innovation can have on the planet’s climate, bio-diversity and natural resources.
