Whilst human centred design is much espoused by technologist and design schools and whilst it has undoubtedly improved some products and services does placing the human at the centre of our thinking allow us adequately address the complexities and challenges we face? In this talk I will argue that we need to acknowledge we are rarely the centre of things but rather we exist in within complex interdependences of human and non-human actants which are emotionally, economically ,ecologically, and morally independent of each other creating the need for more-than-human centred design.
