I organised the visit for a visiting researcher from the USA, Trinity Eimer, to visit Liverpool in 2025 to research about the impact of COVID-19 on palliative care. I organised her visit to the Palliative Care Unit (University of Liverpool), Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LUHFT) and Marie Curie Hospice Liverpool, during her Fellowship, to help support her development and attainment of her Fellowship objectives.
Trinity Eimer is the recipient of the prestigious Watson Foundation fellowship, which is a travelling Fellowship for US citizens to travel the world to identify solutions for important problems in the USA. Trinity is a graduate of Rice University in Texas, and she will commence a pre-med training on completion of the Fellowship. Trinity's project involves understanding the impact of the COVID-19 palliative care practice. She is interested to learn about how COVID-19 impacted institutions and communities. To complete her objectives, she plans to learn from healthcare professionals and academics about their practical experiences, and (if possible) observe clinical practice.
