My Role

I am a PhD Student in the Department of Languages and Cultures, Lancaster University.

Thesis Title

Translating Anthony Burgess's Nadsat in A Clockwork Orange

Research overview

My research is related to invented languages and how they are translated into other languages. It investigates the dystopian novel “A Clockwork Orange” by Anthony Burgess, the stylistic devices, the figurative language, the content in comparison with the translated text. My research explores Nadsat; the richness of this invented language and the effects, it has on the readers in the original and the translated text.

Other Interests and Hobbies

I am interested in writing short stories and translating excerpts from British literature.
