My research interests have a general focus on implementing Remote Sensing & GIS techniques to monitor environmental changes, particularly the loss of productive agricultural land due to urban expansion and the associated implications on environmental sustainability. Simulate likely future scenarios of land use/land cover (LULC) changes which are recommended to develop the understanding of the causes, locations, and trends of global LULC changes in the future.
Current research focuses on:
- Monitor global historical land use/land cover change dynamics.
- Quantify the rates and types of LULC transitions.
- Assess the impacts of rapid urbanization on the loss of productive croplands.
- Simulate likely future scenarios of LULC changes.
