Abstract

We discuss methods of fabricating 2D structures from materials held together by strong van der Waals (vdW) forces. Langmuir-Blodgett deposition is used to fabricate layers of molecules on substrates. Combining 2D materials (2DMs) with other materials creates new optical and nanomechanical properties. We investigate the effect of the presence of C60 and gold nanoparticles beneath a layer of a 2DM.
