N2 - We describe the design and use of a sample RF-SQUID preamplifier for measurement involving vibrating wire resonators. For typical vibrating wires with a resonance frequency approaching 1 kHz, amplification factors of 10(6) to 10(7) are readily achievable together with an increase in the signal to noise ratio of over an order of magnitude.
