Abstract

The objective of this paper is to examine the role of the Nigerian tourism industry as a key value driver in employment generation. Some of the key areas the paper explores include: the Nigerian tourism industry, tourism destinations, influences on tourism development, sustainable tourism, challenges of the Nigerian tourism
industry and the prospects for employment generation. The author observed that tourism should promote safe and friendly travel.
