Buckle up folk… 2050 has arrived!
Activity: Talk or presentation types › Invited talk
What will the business education look like in 2050? Are we ready to face societal challenges and develop resilient and creative graduates who will move our future forward in a sustainable and responsible manner? Or are we stuck in the rot ruled by the business as usual that may lead to disastrous implications?
Join us for a thought-provoking workshop that will introduce Future Scenario Planning method that has been established in different formats as one of many strategy tools in response to increasingly uncertain external economic environment factors and volatility caused by changes in industries, technological advancements as well as financial crises and large-scale changes in macroeconomic environment (Schwenker & Wulf, 2013). The workshop will draw on readily available 2050 four future plausible worlds developed by a global management consultancy Arup that consider planetary health and societal conditions. This workshop will demonstrate how we may apply the scenario planning enhanced with AI generated visual material to our own context assessing the value of business schools. We will test out what Bason and Austin (2019) refer to as “try storming”, which refers to making tangible artefacts such as future-envisioning videos or building models of imagined futures enabling more embodied discussions about the future-fit graduate attributes.
