Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesSymposium

29/04/2024

This webinar addresses the challenges African researchers encounter in securing competitive funding, publishing in top journals, and effectively engaging with key stakeholders for impact. Researchers face obstacles such as the daunting application process, uncertainty about their research fitting grant requirements, and limited understanding of grant-securing norms. Addressing these factors is crucial, as grants are essential for scholars to engage with stakeholders and publish in reputable journals.
Our speakers will address the theme within the context of their personal experiences and discuss opportunities that researchers can explore, including the ‘how-to’ on securing grants and succeeding as an academic.
Speakers
Sharifah Sekalala, Professor of Global Health Law, University of Warwick
Baker, Charlotte Professor of French and Critical Disability Studies, Lancaster University.
