Lancaster Medical School are held a Medical Specialty Fair on Saturday 12 March for MBChB students (Yrs 3-5) to hear first-hand accounts of a range of medical specialties. The event is student organised by members of MedSoc, and supported by Dr Helen Waite, Careers Consultant – Medical Students.

I was invited to share my experience and provide insight into a career in palliative care. The day was split into three 1hr 15mins sessions, with three speakers from different specialities within each session, and refreshments and networking opportunities provided. The event was held in the Lecture Theatre within Health Innovation One, our Health Innovation Campus, with approximately 120 student attendees.

Provisionally the day will run 10am – 3pm. A certificate of appreciation will be issued following attendance on the day for inclusion in your e-portfolio.
