What’s on offer?

Interactive public drop in session with activities to explore how much we can trust Artificial Intelligence to manage our energy supply.

What’s it about?

As we integrate more ‘smart’ digital products and services into our everyday lives, they are using AI to make more decisions for us. Our AI-driven digital products and services are becoming ‘moral agents’ in which we often unconsciously place our trust. Our society needs to transition to new forms of sustainable energy production and consumption to fight climate change. However, the growing autonomy of ‘smart’ technologies raises critical ethical considerations. This is because these technologies themselves are extremely energy hungry and create huge amounts of carbon emissions.

Given these hidden energy-related environmental impacts…How Much Do You Trust an AI to Look After Your Energy for You?

Open to all ages, this event showcases fun and interactive activities produced for the design led UKRI Trustworthy Autonomous Systems Hub funded InterNET ZERO project:

- Energy Master – enter our ‘smart’ tech caravan and meet a newly installed AI system who wants to manage the energy supply and consumption of the local area. But can Energy Master’s sustainable credentials really be trusted?

- Design A Sustainable AI – help us to prototype new ideas for more energy responsible and trustworthy AI-driven digital products and services using creative tools.
