Webinar: Decolonizing the curriculum, an introduction for LMS colleagues

Activity: Talk or presentation typesBusiness Course/Training

21/09/2020

Dear All,

As some of you will know, LMS has created a working group to begin work decolonizing the MBChB curriculum.

From initial discussions with some of you, it is clear that many of us are unfamiliar with what decolonizing a curriculum means and how it might be practically done.

In this webinar, I will introduce an overview of key ideas central to decolonization and then there will be time for discussion.

This session is open to everyone who contributes to teaching on the MBChB. I would very much welcome representation from all aspects of the curriculum. It is my hope that we can begin to learn together and support each other to effect positive change in the curriculum and further meet our commitment to social justice.

I will send a small number of recommended resources in advance of this meeting. I will record my introduction, but not the discussion. And if there are enough people who miss out on the first meeting, I will be happy to run another session at a later date.
