HCI and Ageing literature corpus analysis: CHI conference 2014-2024

Dataset

Description

This dataset contains the codes generated for analysis of literature corpus in the paper titled "Not Just a Number: A Multidimensional Approach to Ageing in HCI". The corpus includes all papers published in the CHI conference from 2014-2024 meeting inclusion criteria of substantive engagement with the concepts of age and ageing. Corpus creation followed PRISMA standards for systematic literature reviews. Analysis involved open coding of the corpus against an HCI and Ageing typology of age, which was adapted from an existing typology of age developed by Johfre and Saperstein in their 2023 paper titled "The Social Construction of Age: Concepts and Measurement". Coding was performed to determine instances of each subdimension of age found within the corpus, specifically how often HCI authors invoked these age subdimensions in motivating their research.
