This presentation gives an overview of the main aspects covered by the European Project H2020. In particular, this project aims to solve the technological gap that presently prevents the use of W-band to distribute substantial capacity from a central point over a wide coverage surface for two main markets: backhaul of small cells and residential access. A powerful and compact transmission hub based on a novel traveling wave tube power amplifier with performance precluded to any other technology and an advanced chipset in a compact terminal will be realised. The TWEETHER system will be tested in a real operating environment.
