Organisation profile

The Violence and Society UNESCO Centre is a coalition of researchers investigating violence and society.  It seeks to build a coherent understanding and explanation of variations in violence and to contribute research expertise to public debate and policy making.

The Centre is  a multi-disciplinary team based in Lancaster University, in 8 departments across Faculties of arts and social sciences, health and medicine, science and technology, and several research centres and institutes.  It collaborates in projects with colleagues in the UK, European Union and beyond including: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and the US.
