Adina Yelekenova is a PhD Candidate in Finance at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS). Her main areas of interest include institutional investors, ESG investing, ETFs, hedge funds, mutual funds. Her PhD research is supervised by Dr. George Wang and Dr. Chelsea Yao.  

 

At LUMS, Adina holds a teaching assistant position for the modules AcF701 "Empirical Asset Pricing: Advanced Topics in Mutual Funds and Investment Strategies" and AcF602 "Advanced Investment Management". She was awarded a Teaching Excellence Certificate in 2020 and 2021. She is also assisting in supervision of MSc Finance students theses in topics related to mutual funds, hedge funds, and fund flows.

 

Adina holds a Bachelor in Economics degree from Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan, and a Master of Science degree in Finance and Business Economics with Distinction from University of Manchester.

 

Before joining PhD program at Lancaster, Adina has been working as a teaching assistant at Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Business (NUGSB) in Astana, Kazakhstan. Her job responsibilities included conducting seminars and tutorials for MBA and Executive MBA students, assisting in thesis supervision for MSc Finance students, and providing SAS workshops. As part of the NUGSB collaboration program, she was assisting the "Raising Capital" module at the Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, working with Prof. David Robinson and Dr. Manuel Adelino.
