Research overview

My research explores the impacts of site isolation and environmental change on the pearl-bordered fritillary (Boloria euphrosyne), a threatened habitat specialist butterfly. My work is focused on the Morecambe Bay Region, a historical stronghold for this species in England, which has experienced several site extinctions over the last 10 years. I use a combination of field-based data collection, statistical modelling, and morphometric analysis to understand these population declines and their implications for species persistence.
