Former Research Student

Amin Yarahmadi

Research overview

My research interests include Applied Mathematics, Operation Research and Optimisation, Stochastic Modeling and Control Theory. Favorite methods are Markov Decision Processes, Dynamic Programming, Mathematical programming and Stochastic/Bayesian Analysis.

Profile

Prior to joining LUMS, I studied Applied Mathematics, throughout both my BSc and MSc studies, with a focus on Opertional Reserach (OR), under the supervision of Prof S. Ali Mirhassani, at Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic). My researches have been so far mainly revolved around Mixed Integer Quadratic Programming (MIQP) and in particular on Wind Farm Layout Optimisation (WFLO) as an application of MIQP.

Research Grants

Lancaster University Management School PhD Scholarship

Current Teaching

  • MSCI 212: Statistical Methods for Business
  • MNGT 130: Introduction to Business Analytics

Current Research

Currently I am working on my doctoral research which is concerned with Stochastic Models for Dynamic Resource Allocation with an application in Clinical Trials.
