I am an AHRC funded PhD candidate and Associate Lecturer. My PhD thesis is a social history of defamation between 1603 and 1640, exploring libel cases brought to the Court of Star Chamber and what they reveal about community relations and popular politics in rural England. I am also a magazine editor, and was the founding Art Director of EPOCH History Magazine. I served in this role between 2020 and 2024.
I am interested in the histories of popular culture, popular politics, protest, social dynamics, social exclusion, and defamation. My primary research focus is early Stuart England.
