Andrew is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Accounting and Finance at Lancaster University specialising in Accounting. In 2021 he was awarded the Pilkington Teaching award by Lancaster University. He was the 2021/22 institutional nominee for a National Teaching Fellowship.

Prior to entering academia in 2014, Andrew spent 11 years working in industry, firstly within External Audit at PricewaterhouseCoopers and secondly as a Senior Manager within Internal Audit at Lloyds Banking Group. Andrew is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (from 2014) with the ICAEW, having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2004. 

Andrew gained a PGCE in Post-Compuslory Education in 2014 and is a Fellow of Advance HE. He was part of the team responsible for winning the AAT Training Provider of the Year - Medium award in 2017 whilst teaching at Preston's College.

Andrew has delivered a number of national training courses to colleagues covering pedagogical practices teaching online. 

Andrew is currently the Part I Director of Studies (from 2018 onwards) and is Module Director for a final year undergraduate Financial Accounting module.
