Professor Angus Laing took up the role of University Dean with responsibility for a portfolio covering regional growth, skills and public policy from November 2021. 

Prior to that he served as Faculty Dean of Lancaster University Management School from October 2015. Professor Laing was previously Dean of Loughborough University’s School of Business and Economics. He has also held posts at University of Glasgow Business School, where he was Head of School, and at the Open University Business School, where he was Director of Research.

He served as Chair of the Chartered Association of Busuiness Schools from 2010 to 2015 and currently chairs the CABS Academic Journal Guide committee. He serves regularly on business school accreditation panels for both AACSB and EQUIS. Additionally he is co-founder and chair of the Academic Advisory Board of NurtureHE.
