Research overview

My doctoral research is a linguistic ethnographic study of leadership and talk at work in which I explore the interactional work professionals do to change ideas and practices. Taking a practice perpsective, my research asks what an analysis of spoken interaction reveals about collective aspects of leadership work.  I am also interested in women’s experience of workplace conversations, their perceptions and their practices with regard to power and influence in everyday spoken interactions, and the implications of these for inclusive leadership.
