Research overview

My research broadly focuses on conflict and security in global politics, with a particular emphasis on the Middle East and the roles of great powers therein. Currently, I am researching the phenomenon of transnational repression from both a theoretical and empirical perspective.

My monograph, China's Strategy in the Gulf: Navigating Conflicts and Rivalries, is to be published in early 2025 with Lynne Rienner Publishers. I have co-edited two volumes and have authored peer-reviewed papers and journalism in Asian Affairs, Orient, and Al-Monitor, among others.
