I am currently in the third year of my PhD. I am doing an empirical study of social science in Latvia, with particular emphasis on sociology. In my research I am attempting to articulate a theory of sociology (and social science in general) that takes seriously the insights provided by historical, ethnographic and philosophical studies of Western science. This locates my project at the intersection between theoretical sociology and the interdisciplinary field of science and technology studies (STS).
