Research overview

Home education (home schooling), alternative forms of education from the dominate school archetype for 0-18 years. Creation of national home education policy, and local authority’s implementation policies, processes and practices. Influences on societal perception of home education and home educators: national and local government bodies, professionals and professional, the media, home education advocates etc. The conflation of home education with narratives of: child protection/safeguarding and Prevent Strategy; children missing education; school unmet needs and off-rolling.
