I am interested in the regulation of carbon assimilation. My research looks at the role of Rubisco activase, a key regulator in photosynthesis, in T. aestivum (wheat) and its wild relatives. I am using genetic, biochemical and physiological approaches to identify superior enzymes in these species.
Because of a growing world population and a changing environment, more productive and resilient crops must be developed. I hope that my research can aid in improving current wheat cultivars to ensure future food security.
