I am a qualitative research specialist, with a particular interest in longitudinal research, and the evaluation of policy initiatives, whether at organisational, local, national or international level. Much of my research has concerned equalities issues in education and the labour market, and the interface between the labour market and the social security system for people with a disability or health problem. I also have a longstanding interest in life transitions (including youth transitions, retirement and ageing, bereavement and life of life care) and have worked as a counsellor in Higher Education and end of life settings.
