My research interests lie generally in political economy, the philosophy of social science and social theory. In particular, I am currently interested in contemporary capitalist variety and variegation, with a regional focus on East Asia. Also, my theoretical interests centre on critical realism, historical materialism, historical institutionalism, the regulation theory, the strategic-relational approach, critical semiotic analysis and the rubric of variegated-capitalism.
