Research overview

My research interests relate to the discursive construction of identities from the point of view of Critical Discourse Analysis.

My PhD research focuses on the strategies of legitimation and discursive construction of Latin-American identity/ies in the ongoing UN mission in Haiti.

Additionally, I am interested in (critical) social theory, qualitative methods, philosophy of (social) science and youth studies. All of them fields where I have researched and/or lectured about.

Career Details

I have worked as a researcher in Chile's National Youth Institute (Instituto Nacional de la Juventud, INJUV) and in a strategic communications consultancy firm.

As a Lecturer, I have 8 years of experience teaching Philosophy, Sociological Theory and Qualitative Methods at Universidad de Chile and Universidad Diego Portales.

I am currently Associate Lecturer (seminar tutor) for Ling204 (Discourse Analysis) and Ling214 (Corporate Communication)
