My research interests fall within the fields of Forensic Speech Science and Sociophonetics. My PhD thesis investigated the role of speech rhythm in forensic voice comparison analysis.

Profile

I am a Forensic Voice Analyst with Soundscape Voice Evidence, an independent consultancy based in the Department of Linguistics and English Language at Lancaster University. Soundscape offers a full range of analytical services, including voice comparison, speaker profiling, transcription and disputed utterance as well as training on aspects of forensic voice analysis. I completed my PhD in Linguistics (Forensic Speech Science) at Lancaster University in February 2025. My thesis investigated the role of speech rhythm in forensic voice comparison analysis. I have presented my work to national and international audiences and have taught undergraduate courses in phonetics and forensic linguistics. I have also assisted in the delivery of continuing professional development courses to the National Crime Agency.

I am also a qualified Teacher of Secondary English (PGCE with QTS).
