Research student

Profile

Having loved my summer at STOR-i as an intern in 2016, I made the decision to join the programme after graduating with a BSc in Maths from the University of Birmingham in 2017. I am now a second year PhD student, looking at solving large-scale scheduling problems. My supervisors are Chris Kirkbride, Burak Boyaci (Lancaster University), and Marc Goerigk (Universität Siegen). I also work closely with Sellafield. The decommissioning of this nuclear site is a huge logistical project, expected to take over 100 years to complete, and cost in excess of £90 billion. I am working to develop and implement optimisation methods to help design a long-term schedule for this decommissioning project.
