Dr Nathan Magnall

Former Research Student

Research overview

I am currently working on my PhD project "Towards a universal model for lava emplacement". My main research interests involve analysis of compositionally diverse lava flows. This work primarily focuses on rhyolite flows at Cordon Caulle in Chile and basaltic flows on Mount Etna. I'm also interested in the processes that occur within magma chambers and the transition from explosive to effusive volcanic eruptions. You can find out more about what I do on my website: https://nathanmagnall.wordpress.com/
