Research overview

I am currently researching language acquisition in infant and adult learners as part of the ESRC international centre for Language and Communicative Development (LuCiD). At present, I am working toward determining the types of information that assist language learning, with a particular focus on speech segmentation, grammatical category learning, and cross-situational learning. Much of my past research has focussed on statistical language learning, and I have been especially interested in examining the benefit of sleep for learning different grammatical rules. My past research has also explored neural correlates of sleep-related language learning using polysomnography.
