Research overview

Rebecca is a Senior Research Associate and member of the Social Processes Lab at Lancaster University. In her current position, an ESRC funded postdoctoral fellowship, she is working on pathways toward sustainable diets. 

 

She completed her PhD at Lancaster University in March 2024. Her thesis investigated the role of the social context in the pursuit of plant-forward diets. Her doctoral studies were funded by an ESRC CASE Studentship award, in which she was partnered with Greenpeace International and supervised by Dr. Jared Piazza, Dr. Ryan Boyd and Dr. Heather Shaw.

 

She recently completed a postdoctoral position at the University of Kent working with Dr. Aleksandra Cichocka on a Leverhulme funded project looking at the role of identity rhetoric in online political messages.

 

Broadly, her research interests include the psychological study of identity, group processes and sustainable behaviours.
