Research overview

Sharon is a Research Associate at Lancaster University working on the Mobile Access North Yorkshire (MANY) project. She completed her PhD through the Mark Hepworth Scholarship at Loughborough University, in the School of Business & Economics. Her PhD explored digital inclusion initiative provision in UK rural communities and the entanglement of organisations, intermediaries, individuals and technology. Sharon has previously worked in education, publishing, and as a researcher at a UK third sector digital inclusion organisation. She has presented research at national and international conferences and policy events, and published research in academic journals and books.

Research interests include: Information management;  Organisation studies; Entrepreneurship; Social dimensions of information systems; Digital skills and social support; Rural communities; Digital Inclusion; Life Long Learning; Qualitative research methods
