Dr Stephen Ford

Research student

Profile

I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA in mathematics, and then studied for a MSc in Scientific Computation and Industrial Mathematics at the University of Nottingham, before joining the MRes programme here at STOR-i. I am currently a PhD student, supervised by Kevin Glazebrook and Peter Jacko here at Lancaster, and by Michael Atkinson at the Naval Postgraduate School.

My research is focused on the optimisation and control of failure-prone systems. In particular, I am looking at the allocation of assets, where the assets fail and have to be replenished in some way. Applications include UAVs, queuing systems and environmental monitoring.
