Research overview

Her research interests are broadly in communication systems, with a focus on radio resource management, massive Machine Type Communications (mMTC), low-latency communications, Beyond 5G (B5G)/6G, multi-access edge computing (MEC), and machine learning. Her publications can be assessed on Google Scholar.

PhD supervision

Profile

Dr. Wenjuan Yu is currently a Lecturer at the School of Computing and Communications (SCC), InfoLab21, Lancaster University. Prior to this, she served as a Research Fellow at the 5G Innovation Centre (5GIC), Institute for Communication Systems, University of Surrey, UK (2018-2020), and as a part-time Research Officer at the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, University of Essex, UK (Aug. 2017 – Jan. 2018). She obtained her PhD in Communication Systems from Lancaster University, UK.

She served as an Executive Editor for the Transactions on Emerging Telecommunications Technologies from 2019 to 2022. Additionally, she has been the lead Co-Chair for the NGMA workshop at IEEE VTC2023 Spring and has served as a TPC member for several IEEE flagship conferences, including IEEE GLOBECOM, IEEE ICC, and IEEE VTC. She is currently the Conference Symposium and Workshop Officer for the Next Generation Multiple Access Emerging Technology Initiative (NGMA-ET). She is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy and Member of IEEE.
