Research overview

I am a researcher specialising in corpus linguistics, discourse analysis, multimodality, and public health communication. My PhD project, which is supervised by Dr Gavin Brookes and Prof Tony McEnery, focuses on how the NHS communicates COVID-19 policy instructions on Twitter and how Twitter users engage with these communications. For this project, I construct and analyse multimodal corpora using ATLAS.ti.

Current Research

I am currently working as a Senior Research Associate at the Law School, conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses of the largest-ever national survey on police uniform and health in the UK. This project, carried out in collaboration with the Police Federation of England and Wales, aims to inform evidence-based national uniform policies.

Current Teaching
