Abstract

Parents can play an active, constructive part in their child’s education. For example, Parentkind’s blueprint1 for parent-friendly schools articulates some key elements for parental participation:
• effective two-way communication
• parents supporting learning
• parental involvement in school life
• engaging with the wider community
