N1 - (Self Authored Website) Design Research North is a website for engagement with the city, industry and the studio. It is a research project based on re-building connections between communities and industry that conducts a wide range of community and industry-based research communication in the north of England. Inherent to the function of DRN is the interaction of students and studio projects in the context of a live website. As a research project, it strives to understand complex social and design issues for the benefit of communities through communication. The research strategy is to disseminate, exchange and combine localised studies with related academic institutions, municipalities and agencies at a European and Global scale. The project involved multiple community and business projects, resulting in the dissemination of knowledge across local and regional groups.
